Ray Bradbury will forever be a hero of mine for providing my imagination with ample material as I wondered the Earth in my youth, grasping at anything that sparked my curiosity. His passing was a sad and marking moment, even if he did leave us at the ripe old age of 91. Imagine how thrilled I was when I discovered NASA named Curiosity’s landing site after Mr. Bradbury, whose visions of Mars prominently featured advanced alien civilizations! Thank you NASA, and thank you Mr. Bradbury! May your soul never lie still… instead, traverse the entirety of the Universe.
NASA officials had one further surprise during their press conference: They have decided to name Curiosity’s touchdown spot Bradbury Landing, after the late Ray Bradbury, who would have been 92 today.
