A long time ago… when I was still in middle school… I was killing time in the school library, and naively left my backpack with my brand new (and quite precious, as this was my only refuge) Sony Walkman inside… I of course, thought it would be safe if I zipped it up inside my bag. Looking back now I think I might of left the headphones sticking out, which probably wouldn’t of made a difference as I’m sure I was being watched. I was always being watched. Needless to say, when I returned from the restroom, I found my Walkman was gone… too bad they left the damn book bag with all the bullshit inside. I still remember what I was listening to at that time; Cracker‘s, The Golden Age. I’m not sure why I was into them at the time, but I think I was digging one of the many albums I lifted from BMG and Columbia CD clubs… man, was that ever fun! I guess I was guilty of pirating even back then (this is in no way an admission of guilt), as I used multiple addresses and names to receive CDs… boxes, upon boxes, upon boxes of sweet, pure polycarbonate plastic. Kind of ironic that it was lifted from me, after I acquired it with such “unscrupulous” methods. Which makes finding it again, after all these years, that much more enjoyable. I hope you enjoy it too!
